Artist Statement

Ethereal is an immersive photographic series born from the quiet backroads and hidden lakes of Ontario. Ancestral lands, rich with healing and alive with story and spirit. The world around us carries both fragility and power, moments of quiet intensity and sudden clarity. My work seeks the places where these forces meet, where light breaks through, water catches the sky, and the landscape itself seems to pause and breathe.

In these moments, sound, rhythm, and subtle prose are inseparable from what I see; the work is meant to be felt as deeply as it is viewed. I capture provocative, fleeting instances of nature's beauty as evidence of healing and the ways the world restores, surprises, and endures. Each immersive image is a trace of that exchange: a record of a moment when landscape, light, and the viewer’s gaze converge in recognition of resilience and wonder, igniting all the senses.

Printed on linen and framed in fallen, reclaimed maple from the lands where the images were captured, the work carries its own sense of time and endurance, reflecting the cycles of nature that sustain it. These immersive photographs are invitations: to notice, to witness, and to experience the quiet yet explosive power of the world’s capacity to heal.

In paying homage to these lands, long protected by Indigenous stewards who embody the sacred reciprocity between care and place, I was gifted wisdom and stillness, a healing carried across generations that I now extend to you.
